If you could use one adjective to describe Venice, what would it be? Mine would be passionate! Venetians are passionate about everything from their food to their style and just enjoying life in general. I can’t think of anywhere else where life is lived to the full with such emotion and zest.
We visited Venice during Carnival time and had so much fun dressing up in our costumes. We parked our car at Piazzale Roma, and then made our way by Vaporetto (their water boat) to a fabulous hotel close to St Mark’s Square. Things went very smoothly as we had conveniently booked on-line through www.inVeniceHotels.com The hotel staff were so friendly and made our stay an unforgettable one. They recommended we visit St Mark’s Square, where we experienced some breathtaking views from the Bell Tower; the Rialto Bridge with its colourful market and the Island of Murano where we picked up some great glass pieces. Our friendly tour guide, whom we had booked through www.inVeniceAccommodation.com took us to some very interesting museums and unusual parts of the City.
Some evenings we also ventured into Mestre on the mainland, where they had an excellent choice of beer, wines and spirits. We found some great pubs on the www.inVeniceToday.com site, and made friends with the locals. All in all this was an amazing experience.
